Grass Fed Burgers

So, we had burgers tonight from some local grass fed beef. It tasted very different from regular supermarket beef....I actually didn't like it very much. But, we're going to try some different cuts of beef and maybe try some from a different farm and see what we think. It's very lean, like deer meat, and even when well-done looks more whitish than we're used to. A very interesting experiment, indeed.

  1. A friend of mine here is doing research with grass fed beef. She's made the comment that it has a very different flavor and it takes some getting used to. I think at some point she mentioned there are cook books with recipes tailored to grass fed beef.

  2. Maybe if you season it up real good it might mask it until you're used to it? Let's make grass-fed tacos on Wednesday!

  3. Tacos comin' right up! I've heard that the steaks are less of a taste change than the ground beef. Maybe we'll try a fancy steak dinner next.
